We have another new arrival here at Magspeed Racing. Our new man hails from the South West of England and is heading into the Cross season FULL of energy and enthusiasm… just what we like to see here at Team Orange!
“At 36 I consider myself a late arrival into the cycling scene, I feel I have made up for my late start with buckets of drive and a passion for racing Cyclocross. I Live in a small town called Bideford in North Devon, I am married to my wonderful wife Kylie, we have 4 children together. My journey into Cross began when I took up road cycling to keep fit, whilst out riding I bumped into a old friend I knew from running who was now a world vet Cyclocross champion by the name of Steve Davies. After a few rides together he convinced me to try Cross and lent me a bike, that was it I was hooked.
I first competed in Cyclocross in the winter season of 2016/17 and fell in love with the sport. I spent the summer racing in the Western League where I finished 5th overall.
Some winter coaching saw me have a very good 2017/18 season with several senior podiums, a 4th in the South West Champs and then coming home first Brit with 36th place in the World Masters Champs in Belgium.
I am really looking forward to the coming season and teaming up with Scotty and the rest of the Magspeed team – I hope using their experience and knowledge I can learn a lot.
For 2018/19 season I am competing in select Southwest and Western League events along with National Trophies, the Worlds in Mol, Belgium and then the National Championships on my birthday in 2019.”
Good luck for the season ahead Nick, we’re right behind you!!
