Last weekend saw Magspeed take part in races all over the country: some headed to Hadleigh Farm for the 2nd round of the National MTB Series, Becky was on the road at Hog Hill and three of our riders took on the well-known HONC (Hell of the North Cotswolds) – a non competitive off-road event in which the lads tackled the 100km ride. Finally, 10 weeks after her nasty accident, in what was her first race of her season, Natalie felt inspired by her teammates and got back on the MTB – great work Nat!!
Mike was up first on the Saturday, in the Sport category Nationals Series Race at Hadleigh on the 2012 Olympic course. On what was a dry and dusty fast-paced race Mike managed to improve on his Round 1 result and bagged a 20th place, tidy job Mike.
Sunday came and it was time for Tomo to hit up the Vets race and then later Sam in the Junior Mens race. The course was still running fast and the technical and physically demanding circuit played into our man’s hands and a really solid ride from start to finish meant that the team’s first top 10 in a National MTB race was achieved…9th for our man Tomo!
Sam lined up in the last race of the day against the usual suspects of the national Junior scene and after a solid first round result, Sam was ready to go out and give it his all. A decent start and then a very mature and well paced ride Smithy came home with 11th and so nearly our second top 10 of the day…great riding once again for our promising Junior!
Sunday also saw our newest addition to the team, Becky, head to Hog Hill to race on the road. Obviously still on form and putting in a very solid performance to finish 2nd on the closed circuit road race…going to be a very fruitful summer for Becky if she carries on the way she has started the season, excellent stuff!
Easter weekend is nearly upon us and time for more racing…lets’ go have some fun!
