Last weekend Team Orange were thin on the ground at the races (partly due to the National MTB Series race being postponed), with most of our riders taking a rest from being between the tape and just went out riding, doing what makes them smile…
However, Henry and Sam travelled to Bristol for the first ‘Das Rad Kross’ at Netham Park. A revised course to the races that have been there in the past and plenty of thought had been put into the new course, making it an eventful and fun race. Our young chaps both got off to great starts, with Henry making one of his characteristically fast starts and taking the early lead. Soon Sam wound up the pace and took to the front of the race and used his current form to pull away from 2nd place, Senior rider, Jared Linden. Smithy managed to eek the gap out to around 20 seconds but was never able to relax as the gap remained the same for the rest of the race. Sam notched up another overall win along with the Junior race win and Henry came in 7th overall and claimed 2nd in the Junior race. Yet again, great work by the young guns and they now both look forward to the next round of the series at their home race in Cheltenham.
A very wet week being had by all means for some soggy miles, but better weather is due for the weekend, where a fair few of our riders will be heading to the Malvern Classic MTB race at Eastnor Castle…its going to be a cracking day out.
