Yesterday saw our man Jamie Richardson-Page start the Trans Pyrenees event in the South of France. The Trans Pyrenees is a new self supported race produced by the team behind the Transcontinental Race. Mike Hall was designing this event back in 2016; his vision was to reward the most adventurous, providing opportunities to beat the clock by facing the most demanding terrain.
The riders will get 1500 km into their legs in some the most spectacular and remote scenery in the Pyrenees. Starting in the Bay of Biscay, then riding to the tip of the Cap de Creus in the Balearic Sea and then ALL the way back again, with a total ascent of around 35,000m.
You can follow Jamie’s progress along the way here (Jamie is rider no.33) and see how he is faring along the long and hilly road from one side of France to the other. Good luck Jamie, see you on the otherside…
